After all the wedding festivities and bidding farewell to out of town guests, we finally were able to begin our honeymoon today! Both of us were so anxious to get out of town that we woke up on our own at 6am in the morning, even before the alarm went off! Read on for more on our first honeymoon blog post.
We quickly finished packing up (we had done the bulk of it the night before) and prepared to hit the road in Lila’s folks relatively new Nissan Xterra. It was great to have a good SUV/4X4 for the 2-week camping/fishing trip that we had prepared. We headed off and stopped at my sister’s house to pick up a few things that we had left there the day before…namely my PocketPC…especially since I was eager to try out my new toy – a GPS receiver and software. :)
After configuring the PocketPC to work with my laptop, we headed off, got breakfast and a quick Walmart stop in Abbotsford, and were on the road by around 11:30 a.m.
We made a couple of quick stops for gas and snacks in Hope and Merritt, then decided that our first stop would be Lac Le Jeune, just south of Kamloops.
We checked-in to the Provincial campground there and found the beautiful lake was very close to where we pitched our tent. After setting up camp, we decided to give our new little boat a try, and proceeded to inflate the “4 person” (HAH) boat and take it down to the lake. With barely enough room for a tackle box, mini drink/fish cooler, two fishing rods….oh….and ourselves, we pushed the boat out through the reeds and proceeded to attempt to catch some fish. It was late in the afternoon, and very hot, so we weren’t holding out hope. We saw a few jump near our boat, but didn’t even get a bite. We got a little wet as we tried to find the best way to sit in this little inflatable, but in the end, we decided to come back to shore and make some dinner. Tomorrow, the fish would pay for their indiscressions!
We cooked up some lamb on the camp stove, and made a fire. We just completely chilled out and read by the fire – it was pure bliss! :)
We headed into the tent by like 7:30 (LOL…damn it was early) and relaxed and read some more. I fell asleep by around 8:30 or 9 I think, but Lila really got into her book, and stayed up till 1:30 reading! It was a shock that I got up at 6:30 wide awake, but she was still sleepy. :P It looks like it’s going to be another beautiful day! :)

So, how about some GPS coordinates? ;)

Zen, I thought you managed to implant that GPS tracker on (in) them before you left?

Kind of. He got "persuaded" to get a GPS - and did get one - but he's not uploading the coords ;)

Does anybody know why? I can’t believe that this is really true! But often the things are not as they seem to be in this coloured world…
